
Salinas, CA – Two men attempted an armed robbery on Friday of the El Rey Market at 323 Williams Road, according to the Salinas Police Department.
The men, armed with dark colored handguns, entered the market at 7:33 p.m. and attempted to rob the business.
One of the suspects pushed a 4-year-old girl to the floor and momentarily pointed his handgun in her direction.
An employee herd the robbery and saw the girl being pushed, retrieved his legally possessed handgun, and fired two shots into the ceiling.
The suspects then fled the market and were last seen running west on Grandhaven.
The first suspect was described as approximately 5-foot, 7-inches tall, wearing black pants, ski mask, beanie and a burgundy shirt.
The second suspect is described as wearing all black clothing.
