So it’s happened again. Another mass murder event carried out by evil-doers. This time in California. Make no mistake, the San Bernardino shooting is tragic. Details are still coming in, but I have to be honest, the comments I’m seeing on social media are already making me sick. Hillary and Obama are already calling for more gun laws. People are blaming Muslims when we don’t know if they are yet. People are blaming the NRA. This nonsense needs to stop.
The San Bernardino shooting is a horrific tragedy. This isn’t the time for politics or blame. There are people that are still waiting to know if their loved ones are alive. This was a tragic, senseless murder of innocent people – no matter the reason the killers carried it out.
Confucious said, “the beginning of wisdom is to give things their proper names”. The San Bernardino shooting was horrific. It was also evil, plain and simple. Evil wants to spread. Evil wants to inflict pain, fear and panic. Evil wants to divide. But make no mistake. What happened today was evil. Let’s give things their proper names. Let’s call these people what they are: killers. What they did: evil. Now is not the time for politics, blame or speaking out on things that we still know little about.
There will be a time to discuss the “why”, the “who” and the “how do we stop this”. But not today.
So please,
don’t post theories on why.
Don’t post theories on blame.
Don’t point fingers.
Don’t assume to know what hasn’t been verified.
But, please,
do pray.
Do mourn.
Do hope.
Do hug those you love – and tell them you love them.
God rest the souls of the victims. God bless their loved ones. And for Pete’s sake, let’s stop arguing and start talking and healing.
Thanks for reading. God bless you and God bless America.
